Essential Duties
  • Checks all vehicles entering campus and logs visitors.
  • Greets visitors in a professional, courteous manner to provide passes, maps, information or directions as needed.
  • Received incoming calls and messages; directs communication internally as required, provides information and guidance while demonstrating a courteous and helpful manner.
  • Maintains accurate radio log, recording pertinent information concerning calls and activities of each officer.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must successfully complete the APCO Basic Telecommunication Training during the first year of appointment.
  • Must become familiar with the Crimestar Software program
  • Must become familiar with MUW鈥檚 text messaging software program.
  • Must pass a background investigation.
  • Must be a United States citizen.
  • Must be available to work 12- hours on rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • One year of successful work experience in a public-contact occupation.
  • Must be able to deal with stressful situations, including life-threatening incidents.
  • Must be able to lift over 10 pounds and stand for long periods of time

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Job Description Summary
Responsible for performing communications duties, with both internal and external sources, including police two-way radio system, multi-line telephone system, and computers in a variety of emergency and non-emergency situations. Responsible for all duties relating to the control of vehicles entering the campus during specified times.
