Essential Duties
This position leads the efforts of the (OUR) and the , both of which are housed in Fant Memorial Library, and both of which encourage multiple modes of research and creative activities across campus, providing students with hands-on, high-impact research opportunities.

This position will coordinate the activities of the OUR by:
  • Serving as the ex-officio chair of the Undergraduate Research Advisory Committee
  • Administering and managing the OUR budget
  • Supporting and encouraging ongoing student research efforts
  • Continuing outreach and organizational efforts to grow existing programs, including the Undergraduate Research Conference, the Summer Scholar independent research program, and the Faculty Undergraduate Research Mentor Institute

This position will also grow the existing Digital Scholarship efforts on campus by:
  • Teaching required courses in the Digital Studies minor: LIB 201: “Introduction to Digital Studies” and LIB 401: “Digital Studies Practicum” as needed
  • Coordinating assessment efforts for the Digital Studies minor
  • Creating opportunities for faculty and student outreach and enrichment in digital scholarship

As a library faculty member, this position will also
  • serve as a public-facing library liaison to select departments in the College of Arts and Sciences
  • provide library support and outreach for these fields as appropriate
  • collaborate with other library faculty on instruction, reference, research support, and collection development.

The fixed and non-negotiable salary for this position is $50,000 for the rank of Assistant Professor and $52,500 for rank of Associate Professor.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program
  • 1-3 years of recent, relevant experience in academic libraries
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Experience supporting or teaching undergraduate students
  • Experience supporting or participating in a digital scholarship project

Preferred Qualifications (can be learned or gained on the job):
  • An additional advanced degree in a related field
  • Experience conducting independent scholarship
  • Experience as a liaison or subject librarian in an academic library
  • Project management experience
  • Experience leading digital scholarship projects
  • Interest or experience in working with or managing digital repositories or digital repository assets
Job Description Summary
This position leads the efforts of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) and the Digital Studies minor, both of which are housed in Fant Memorial Library. This position is charged with organizing high-impact student opportunities, teaching digital and information literacy courses (for-credit and course-integrated), and encouraging multiple modes of research and creative activities across campus through continued efforts to grow existing programs. The qualified candidate will also manage and administer the budget of the OUR that funds the Undergraduate Research Conference, digital scholarship projects, the independent summer research program, and faculty mentor support. As a library faculty member, this position will also serve as a public-facing library liaison to select departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, providing library support for these fields as appropriate through instruction, reference, research support, and collection development.
